Pre-Procedure Instructions
Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure your procedure goes as planned. Delay or cancellation of your procedure may occur if the following steps are not followed:
- Our staff will call you a few days before your set procedure date to give you detailed instructions. They also will be able to answer the majority of any questions that may be of concern.
- Please arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from Advanced Endovascular Institute and remain with you post procedure.
- Please bring the necessary documents to confirm one’s identify and health history, including driver’s license, insurance cards, and current medication list.
- Please refrain from eating or drinking after midnight prior to the procedure morning.
- On the day of the procedure, ensure morning medications have been taken with sips of water unless specified otherwise.
- The following medications have special instructions, please follow them:
- Metformin-hold day of procedure
- Insulin-take ½ dose night before, hold insulin on procedure day
- Eliquis, Xarelto & Pradaxa-hold 3 days prior to the procedure day
- Warfarin, Coumadin & Jantoven-hold 5 days prior to the procedure day
- The following medications have special instructions, please follow them:
**Please DO NOT HOLD Aspirin, Brilinta, Effient, or Plavix
- **Please let our clinical staff know if you have a shellfish or contrast allergy. We will send pre-medications for you to start 24 hours prior to your procedure.
- If there are any changes in your condition or if you need to change or cancel your procedure, please notify Dr. Ansaarie’s office at 386-232-9203. Call of the office number and follow the prompts to be transferred to the 24-hour answering service on the weekend days or after hours.
